We’d love to see Apple add more features to iCloud Keychain in the future. ![]() ![]() Still, Apple’s extension of Password Autofill out of the browser is a welcome change. Go to Settings app Passwords & Accounts Website & App Passwords Touch ID or Face ID authentication. Also, you cannot save any information other than passwords and credit/debit cards. Unlike other password managers, there’s no way to organize your saved passwords. Apple on Wednesday released an update to the iCloud Utility for Windows, which lets PC users have some of the features of Apple’s. While there’s no denying that iCloud Keychain is amazing, it’s also pretty bare-bones. Once authenticated, you should be able to see all the saved passwords, and you can tap on the relevant one to auto-fill it. Tapping on it will require you to authenticate using Touch ID or your device passcode. You should see a key icon on the keyboard. To do so, simply navigate to the password field inside any app. Enter a password label (for example, 'OnceHub'). Under App-Specific Passwords, click Generate Password (Figure 2). On older devices, use Apple two-step verification instead. Now, iOS autofills that password so you can sign in to Twitter’s app automatically. Apple has released a new version of its cloud storage service for Windows and iCloud for Windows 13 now includes a password generator among other new features. In the Security section, turn on Apple two-factor authentication if it is not on already. You can generate an app-specific password after you enable. For instance, say you saved your Twitter password in Safari. Apple requires an app-specific password for your iCloud account in order to use Fantastical. Paste the app-specific password into the password field that is asking for your iCloud password. Launch the app for which you need the app-specific password. Copy the app-specific password you generated. ![]() In iOS 11, you can use saved passwords in Safari inside other apps, too. Be sure the name relates to the app for which you are generating the password, like 'Outlook' or 'Thunderbird.' Select Create. Pro tip: Use Password Autofill for apps in iOS 11 If, for some reason, you’d like to disable iCloud Keychain altogether, navigate to iPhone Settings > Apple ID > Keychain and disable iCloud Keychain. Upon disabling, you’ll get the option to keep or delete previously saved passwords and credit cards. You can choose to keep or delete existing passwords when disabling iCloud Keychain.
